You win some, you lose some

This morning the lake looked a bit rough, but we had to get some more fishing in. Maddie, Seth and I went out with my dad in his boat. I didn't think we'd want to fight the waves on Pike Bay so we decided to try our luck again on the big lake, keeping our expectations low. We decided to drop our lines over by the "tin cans" (Roy's nickname for the Marina as that's what it looks like from a distance). This turned out to be a good decision, as we ended up with a "boat-load" of really nice-sized perch...18 total. Nevertheless, I still had my share of bad luck. After reeling in a healthy, fat perch, I decided to measure it. Dad has a nice measuring tape along the side of his boat. Well, it's nice except for the fact that it's right on the edge of the boat, and as I was holding my fat, 10" perch against it, it flipped out of my hand and back into the lake. Such a bummer. Later, I had a nice Northern Pike on my line. In all our excitement to get it in the boat, we ended up with two people (Seth and Maddie) trying to land it, and in all the confusion, the fish darted and snapped my line. So yeah...you win some, you lose some. It was just one of those days.

In the afternoon, Seth and Maddie went to pick up their car from the repair shop. Then the ladies (Maddie, Chloe, Beth, Elise and I) drove to Walker for a little shopping. The guys (Tom, Seth and Zach) joined us later, and all eight of us made our way to Zorbaz for pizza (since Seth and Maddie had missed it the week before).

After supper, back at the resort, we visited with Mom and Dad for a bit. Then we walked down to our cabin for some games. Several of us taught Beth how to play Sushi-Go. Even though she didn't know what she was doing, the rookie pulled off the win!
