MEET LINDA HANSTRA, WRITER/BLOGGER

Linda is wife to Tom, Mom to Jared, Seth, Leah and Chloe, MIL to Maddie, and now she’s a grandma too! Linda is inspired by her everyday experiences and perspectives as a parent and empty-nester. Through biking, traveling, parenting her adult children, and spending time with family and friends, she captures stories to encourage you in your everyday. If your nest is full-for-now, soon-to-be-empty, or all the birds have flown, Linda’s message is one of promise and possibility on your journey!

I’m so glad you stopped by!

Whether I’m blogging, freelancing, or working on my “someday book”, my writing is an expression of who I am, a colorful image of the life I’ve been given, and the people and things that surround me. My story comes to life when the words on my page touch your heart and soul.

I love a great metaphor as much as a good cup of coffee, a glass of red wine, or a square of dark chocolate; all of which are even better when shared with you, my friend.

I’m a recently retired school Speech Language Pathologist, which has given me more time to pursue the things I love. My husband and I are into biking, especially on the trails of Michigan, Indiana, and Minnesota…the places we call “home”.

When I’m not writing or biking, I enjoy reading, gardening, backyard bird-watching, playing with my grandson, knitting, digital scrapbooking, fishing, and spending time at our cabin “up north”.

In my writing, as in my life, my goal is to be real. I know that means my faults and weaknesses might be exposed. But it’s okay. I believe in the grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, and the unconditional love of my heavenly Father. Even my messy, imperfect life can be a source of joy and beauty when he shines his Light through me. I hope you will find in me a friend and confidante you can trust.

And so I give you my words. As you take them in, I hope you’ll pause, ponder, and see patches of his Light shining through them.
