Traditions...

Our Sunday started off in the usual way with the whole gang (27 of us this year) heading off to church at the Bemidji Evangelical Free Church. We enjoyed the contemporary worship service and Chloe celebrated her first communion as she recently had become ready for this sacrament in our church at home. She was a little nervous about the rituals in an unfamiliar church, but since it was very similar to ours, everything went just fine. Overall, we felt at home in this church, and the only thing that was missing was the great coffee they usually served afterwards--bummer!

After church we went back to the resort for the annual pork chop grill/pot luck with the family. The weather was great, the food delicious, and the company lots of fun! We commented on those family members we missed (especially Aunt Hank, who was last here 2 years ago, and passed away just a few short weeks ago).

The rest of the afternoon was spent tubing, swimming, reading, visiting, and just hanging around the resort.
