Cousins' Week

Cousins' Week Cass Lake, MN

Cass Lake, MN

Today was "in-between" day. Our "just us" family week has ended, and today "cousins' week" begins. The day started out gloomy and overcast--our first day like this all week. However, the sun soon came out, the waves calmed down, and it looked like some good fishing weather. Tom took Leah & Seth out to Potato Islands, and they ended up coming back with 10 rock bass. While they were gone, I did our first week's laundry while sitting in the lodge working on my travel blog, uploading pictures, etc. Chloe just entertained herself around the cabin, and as newcomers arrived went swimming with them.

By late afternoon, my cousin Paul arrived, towing Uncle Roy's boat. He usually stays with his parents, Roy & Sonya, but unfortunately, Uncle Roy has been very ill lately and was just too weak to make the trip. They will be missed. Soon, Paul's brother Phil and wife Wenda arrived with their kids, Courtney, Lindsay, and Brandon. And shortly after that the my cousin Deb (Paul & Phil's sister) arrived with her husband Roy and kids Luke, Kara, Leah & Erin. Suddenly we have 7 teenage (or pre-teen) girls, 2 teenage boys, and one younger boy in our group. What fun! After a quick supper, several of the older kids went up to the Cass Lake theater to see "Transformers 3." Deb & I stayed up late talking and catching up on each others' lives. And so begins "counsins' week."
