Home Sweet Home Away from Home

Today we finished our driving for another week. We left Bismarck after breakfast and stopped in Fargo, ND, for lunch, where we met Craig (one of Tom's Calvin roommates) and Tammy and their 4 kids at Culver's. We had not seen them for 8 years so the kids had pretty much forgotten each other, but quickly became reacquainted over lunch. Since they have 2 boys and 2 girls near the ages of our kids, they were able to find things to talk about while the adults had a chance to catch up on each others' lives; it was so nice to see them again.

We then finished up our drive, stopping in Park Rapids for a grocery run (and haircut for Tom) at Walmart, finally arriving in Cass Lake at about 6:40 p.m. The kids felt like we were "home" as we pulled up to our familiar cabin. We moved in, and had our first home-cooked meal in 2 weeks. The kids quickly found all their cousins as well, and Grandpa and Grandma stopped by to say "hi." It was a really nice, warm day, and we're hoping this weather holds out all week!
