Just chillin' at the Y

Estes Park, CO

We had decided that today would be a "kick-back" kind of day, so we awoke at about 8:30, and realized we needed to rush to get breakfast, which ended at 9:00. After that, the girls and I relaxed in the lodge room (we're staying in Wind River again, same as last time), blogging, playing games and taking showers. Tom got started on our laundry at the Y's laundry facilities, where he enjoyed some reading time. The girls and I met Seth for lunch at the Rustic Cafe, and then headed over to the Craft Shop, where Seth has been working this summer. He showed us what he does there and gave us a tour of the whole place. We discovered rooms and crafts we didn't even know about when we were here two years ago! We then got busy on some crafts.

Leah started a silk painting using a music note pattern they had, a wax resist, and several dyes. In the meantime, Seth and Chloe together, and Tom and I together started on some mosaics (one of Seth's areas). Seth and Chloe began a gecko (as Chloe's souvenir of the trip), and Tom and I started on a house number sign. Later in the afternoon, Linda also started a silk painting, which she just couldn't resist (no pun intended).

We worked on crafts until the shop closed, and then figured out our supper plans. The kids ordered a pizza to eat in the room, while Tom and I went to the nice buffet at the Pine Room. We also spent some time Skyping with Jared, and enjoyed catching up on his life, while also having the whole family "sort of together" for the first time all summer! All in all, it was a fun, relaxing day!
